    Biography

Lisa was born and raised in New Jersey. Like so many young adults, she entered college with open-minded enthusiasm, searching for who she was and what paths I should follow.

College life promised to be a wonderful journey of making new friends and discovering new ideas. During her early months on campus she was approached by a group of fellow students who were very friendly. They helped her understand that God had already defined a path for her and that she should follow a life of compassion and joy. Using the word of God, slowly and methodically, she was lured into the grip of a dangerous religious cult.

The question that is most often asked of her is: "How could a young girl who comes from such a close knit family and with such a bright future get involved in a cult?" This is her story. A story she wants to share with audiences of all ages, especially high school students going off to college for the first time. Lisa wants to share the intimate details, step-by-step, of a process of deception that captivates the imagination. You’ll learn from her the first hand experience how she was subtly enticed into the cult; what happened while she was there; the forced separation from her family and how she ultimately escaped.

Today, college campuses are the main recruiting grounds for these high-pressure cults. Every new student who enters college is susceptible to these groups and there is nothing that can be done to stop them. Through her experience, she can help young students be prepared for these dangerous groups and to recognize their methods of deception.

Lisa was lucky. She got out without any permanent damage and was able to continue her education. In May, 2005,she was awarded her Masters degree from Montclair State University. She began speaking about high-pressure cults just one year after leaving the group and has been speaking ever since. Lisa has the opportunity to give something back to her community and to truly connect with young people. In Lisa's own words: "If, by speaking out, I can help just one person avoid being trapped by these cults, it would be worth every effort."
